Sinabroks Round Dent

The Sinabroks round dent is made of solid brass and has a nice weight to use and good for rust prevention because of the solid brass material. The width of the tooth is 1.4 – 1.9 mm and create very clean holes for any threads. All teeth are polished to pierce the thick leather easily and removed without any issues. This round dent will really develop your hand stitching efficiency and will produce extremely clean stitching.

The Sinabroks teeth are thin so you don’t need to work with an awl.

* Information: A spacing is measured from each center of blades.

It is recommended to use a wooden mallet or PVC hammer for this tool.

Technique

Clean stitching holes.

A few habits make the difference between neat, even stitching and a wandering line.

  1. 01

    Mark your line

Scribe a line with a wing divider or groover so every hole lands where it should.

  2. 02

    Keep it upright

Hold the tool straight along the line. Set the first prong in the last hole you made to keep the spacing even.

  3. 03

    Strike with a mallet

Use a plastic, wood or rawhide mallet and punch through the full thickness of the leather.

  4. 04

    Protect the teeth

Work on a punching block. Gluing a piece of thick veg-tan to the top of the block protects the teeth.
