Beginner Shoemaking 4-Day Intensive Course
Embark on a creative journey in the heart of Vancouver with our immersive 4-day shoemaking course. Perfect for beginners, this hands-on experience will guide you through every step of the shoemaking process.

What You’ll Learn
This course is all about hands-on learning. You'll create your pair of chosen shoes, working through the entire process from pattern creation to final finishes:
- Pattern Making: Discover how to select a shoe last, draw your model, and create precise patterns for each section.
- Clicking: Learn the art of cutting leather and preparing it for sewing.
- Sewing: Master the basics of leather sewing on industrial sewing machines.
- Lasting: Understand how to shape your shoe by lasting it onto the shoe last.
- Shoe Components: Explore how to measure and prepare insoles, stiffeners, and soles.
- Finishing: Perfect your pair with final cleaning, assembly, and leather treatment techniques.
By the end of the course, you’ll walk away with a custom pair of shoes, handmade by you, and the skills to continue crafting shoes at home.

Who Should Attend?
Whether you're new to shoemaking or have some experience, this course is for anyone who wants to dive into the world of handmade footwear. No previous experience is necessary, but if you’ve dabbled in shoemaking before, you can tackle a more complex project during the course.

Pattern paper.
Leather, thread, eyelets, laces, soles, insoles, and other materials.
Shoe lasts (available for borrowing or purchase).
All tools needed for the course (available for use in the studio or for purchase).

Meet Your Instructor: Nina Rozin
I’m Nina Rozin, a passionate shoe designer, shoemaker, and educator with over 20 years of experience.
About My Background:
Education: I studied design and technology for the footwear industry at the prestigious Cordwainers at the London College of Fashion.
Guild Membership: I’m a proud member of The Guild of Master Craftsmen in England, a recognition I earned in 2002.
Studio & Teaching: In 2005, I founded my studio offering design, development, and consulting services to shoe companies.
In 2007, I established “The Guild School of Footwear and Accessory Design”, the only comprehensive shoe school in the Middle East.
Since 2018, I’ve been traveling the world to teach shoemaking workshops. My courses blend traditional craftsmanship with a modern approach, tailored to fit the unique spirit of each location.

Policies:
Admin Fee:
There is a non-refundable $120 admin fee for all shoemaking workshops. This helps us cover the cost of charges accrued from cancellations.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 14 days in advance. Refunds will not be given if cancellation or rescheduling happens within that window.
Sick Policy:
In the case of a student becoming sick for this course, please get in touch with us as soon as possible, and our instructor will get in contact with you to figure out an alternative make-up session.
Rescheduling Policy:
If you need to reschedule, please email us no sooner than 14 days prior to the start of the course. Rescheduling may not be possible if notice is not given at least 2 weeks out.
Age Policy:
Participants must be 16 years of age or older to take this class.
Waiver:
All participants are required to sign a liability waiver upon entry to the studio.
