In this workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of wood carving and create your own ornament by choosing from three pre-designed options. Each design offers a unique style, making it an ideal project for holiday gifting or adding a thoughtful touch to your Christmas tree.

This workshop will take place during our Lonsdale Leather Christmas Market on December 7th, featuring local handmade artists, food, and drinks for a festive and creative atmosphere.

Shayla Giroux is a Vancouver-based sculptor and woodworker who transforms salvaged local trees into beautifully crafted, functional pieces. Drawing on her family’s woodworking roots and her background in sculpture and cabinet-making, she blends precision with artistic storytelling. Her work carries a distinctly artisanal feel. Cancellation Policy:
- Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 7 days in advance. Refunds will not be given if cancellation or rescheduling happens within that window.
Sick Policy:
- We can appreciate and respect that sickness/illness happens unexpectedly, in the case of becoming ill within 7 days of the workshop, students will be refunded the cost of materials.
Admin Fee:
There is a non-refundable $20 admin fee for all workshops. This helps us cover the cost of charges accrued from cancellations.
Rescheduling Policy:
Rescheduling is allowed, if done at least 7 days prior to the start of the scheduled workshop. If rescheduling occurs more than 3 times for the same workshop, the workshop will be automatically refunded less the cost of the admin fee.
Age Policy:
Participants must be 15 years of age or older to take this class.
