OWDEN Carving knife

Owden Professional leather Carving tool made of stainless steel with ebony handle.
Extremely sharp and fine, this knife is ideal for tight corners and radiuses, or pieces with intricate details.
No need for replacement blades, this knife is designed to be re-sharpened. The blade is single beveled on the right side, so sharpened and stropping is easy.
Tips:
  • We recommend making a strop out of wood and thick vegetable tanned leather, applying a layer of Jeweler's Rouge to the leather, then stropping this blade before each use. This will ensure you always have a nice sharp blade for your projects.

Care

Keep it sharp.

A sharp edge cuts cleaner and safer. A little upkeep goes a long way.

  1. 01

    Strop often

A few passes on a leather strop loaded with polishing compound keeps the edge keen between sharpenings.

  2. 02

    Sharpen when it drags

When the blade starts to drag or tear instead of slicing, hone it on a fine sharpening stone, then strop.

  3. 03

    Cut on the right surface

A self-healing cutting mat protects the edge and your table.

  4. 04

    Store it dry and protected

Wipe blades after use and keep edges from knocking against other tools. A light coat of oil helps keep carbon steel from rusting.
